New Ongava Research Centre...

Our new research facility will be opening in April 2019, we’ll update the website soon with more information.

We have left our previous blog online below if you’d like to have a look at some of the amazing camera trap images from the past 3 years.

Fieldwork Blog - Leopard Study - Night 1
- (Added 25. Sep. 2012 - 10:00)

The rest of the night was very quiet. In the early hours we decided to check the trap every 15 minutes through until dawn, then remove the bait and close the gate. Time to review the data from the camera traps located above the cage.

We were not surprised to see some images of the caracal, a brown hyaena and a porcupine (they will investigate anything!) but we were quite surprised to see this image from the early hours!

That's 'Scar', the senior pride male for this area of the reserve... Luckily he decided not to investigate further! But no sign of leopards yet.
